Commentary

"It had been around 30 years since he last was here, but Mario's interest was piqued as soon as he opened that letter. The skies that surrounded the Regency, once blue and leaden with clouds, were now overcast with storms that seemed to overlap with the building's upper reaches. He would probably not think to return to this place, or even remember it, were it not for the fact that Lemmy himself reached out to him with a plea only he could answer to. Ironic, given the fact that they once sparred here.
From what he could gather from the messy handwriting, it seems a member of the hotel's staff found a body in one of its rooms — a member of Princess Peach's retinue, no less. That alone would've been enough to make him want to lend a hand in the investigation, morbid as it were, but the book that was in the same room, uncovered by Mario just a few moments after arriving, provided him with enough reason to see this case through to its logical end. He shared his finding to everybody partaking in the investigation, even though not many seemed to pick up on its meaning, if anybody at all. But for as much as he'd eventually forget the events that led to his first visit to this hotel 30 years ago, oddly enough, he did remember this one dusty book. So from the moment he started reading through its withered pages, he started to recall how this book once provided him and his brother with instructions on how to get through the hotels."
